STORY RING
A recently engaged couple contacted me with this idea. On paper
they had sketched what they wanted "to scale". Shown is the mens ring, we cast a womens ring to match and it became a
wedding set. Both rings were made by hand in 14kt white gold. I textured the
background and high polished the higher areas to give a more 3-dimentional
look to the piece, bringing more of the items to be highlited to the
forefront.
As you turn this ring you'll see landmarks that had significant meaning
in their lifeas a couple. We carved the Grand Tetons with the moon reflecting
on their slopes, to the left a lone catus in the desert. (click to enlarge

the ring, the distinct rock bridge formation "Delicate Arch" in Utah
emerges. Beyond that, a glistening Lake Tahoe appears with a slight
ripple over the water, and the sun's bright rays overhead. I thoroughly
enjoyed this project. What's your story...? I'll carve it on a ring
for you...

TATTOO
MACHINE RING
I'll attempt most anything.I carved this custom ring for the owner
of a world-class tattoo studio. He came up with a couple of pictures
of a tattoo machine he wanted the ring to look like. The pictures
he sent, were from different angles.(Which helps me to know where
to carve the piece three dimensionally). Using the centuries old method
of "lost wax casting", I cast the carving in the metal alloy he selected.
Then with various files, sandpaper, rubber wheels, and jewelers polishes,
carefully finished the piece by hand. This is the way I finish all
of my work, one at a time by hand. It is the best way to insure I
get the best quality piece of jewelry for my customers.
He knew the quality of work to expect from me, he had purchased 3
skull rings from our collection at an earlier date for himself and
his girlfriend. (You can see our latest collection of skull rings
when you "click" on SKULLS on the HOME page of this site).
He said I nailed it, gave him exactly what he wanted. That's what
I live to hear. It's important to me to do things right, the first
time.
For a store owner, salesman, shop mechanic or crew, etc... wearing
a ring that represents what you do or ties in with the shop in some
way can be a great conversation starter or ice breaker, with anybody.
It gets peoples attention, it's a conversation piece which could very
well lead a new customer right thru your front door of business, and
result in a good size sale. |
